Beautiful native trees and birdsong surround your peaceful private cottage and gardens. Situated on an 18 acre farm, near the foothills of the Southern Alps. Enjoy your very own star gazing space, where you can lie back in comfort and be awed by the clear sky and Milky Way with all the constellations.
Enjoy nature while you relax and unwind in comfort and privacy.
CUTE AND COSY
The cute and cosy cottage has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other is larger with a queen bed, one king single and two singles. The cottage has a kitchen, bathroom with shower, washing machine and dryer. The cottage is completely self-contained. It has a large outdoor deck with barbecue as well as a spacious lean-to cover for your vehicle.

Enjoy a variety of complimentary teas, coffee, biscuits and cereals, as well as fresh eggs from free-range hens.
Farm Animals
Enjoy watching the beautiful Belted Galloway cattle in the nearby paddocks. If we have calves you may even get to help feed one.
Garden & Orchard
Wonder our amazing waist high vegetable gardens, and pick what you wish. The berry house is laden with berries come summer. The orchard has pears, peaches, plums, nectarines, apples and quince.
Wildlife
Sally and Drew have created a haven for wild birds. Struan Farm is an oasis of peace in a beautiful natural environment. Enjoy the clean country air and the birdsong.
Star Gazing
Come night time gaze at the stars that light up the heavens. You have your very own star gazing area to enjoy.

THE COTTAGE
GARDENS AND OUTDOORS
Space and tranquilty
Guests have their own extensive outdoor space to enjoy, and are welcome to walk around the native gardens, vegetable gardens and orchard. In summer guests enjoy picking strawberries, fruits and vegetables. From bird watching to star gazing, there is always something new to experience at Struan Farm Retreat.
LOCATION
Struan Farm Retreat is 1.5 hours south of Christchurch and 1 hour from Tekapo.
We are 4 hours from Queenstown.
The cottage is 12 Km from Geraldine (7 mins) and 35Km (30 min) minutes from Timaru airport.
Skiers have a choice of two ski fields. Mt Hutt and Mt Dobson (both 1 hour away).
THINGS TO DO
The Orari River is next door to our property. Also bush walking, hiking, skiing, rafting, fishing, horse trekking, canyoning and mountain biking are some of the many outdoor activities near by. Geraldine (10 mins drive) is small country town with boutique stores, restaurants, and art galleries. Peel Forest is 15 mins drive and Orari Gorge Reserve both have well-kept stunning walking tracks.

Drew and Sally are lovely hosts, they made us feel so welcome. We had an excellent time and our 2 year old loved picking strawberries in the garden and seeing the cows and chickens. A really good space for families. The cottage had everything we needed and is in a great location, so close to Peel Forest and Geraldine. Highly recommended!!!
Farm Safety
Guests are welcome to walk around the gardens, vegetable gardens and orchards. We do not allow guests to walk into the paddocks as we have bulls with the cows. The fences around the paddocks are all electric. All work shops and farm equipment are closed to guests for their safety.
SALLY AND DREW
Sally and Drew’s house is 50 meters away from the cottage. They ensure your privacy. Sally and Drew are naturally very welcoming and friendly. They have both had extensive international adventure life experiences. They have owned Struan Farm for 30 years and have created an oasis of peace in a beautiful natural environment.
